Global 1000 award
Every excellence has a witness
Reference letters reveal:
the earned trust, observed integrity, and tangible impact.
About reference letters
Every great achievement leaves witnesses. A thoughtful letter of reference does more than support a nomination—it deepens it. It adds context, character, and credibility to a story that deserves recognition.

In the Global.1000 Awards, reference letters act as trusted testimony. They spotlight the human impact behind measurable outcomes, the judgment behind strategic calls, the integrity behind sustained influence.

When written with clarity and care, a reference letter doesn’t just echo past achievements—it affirms a nominee’s standing among those shaping what comes next.

Reference Letter Guidelines
A trusted voice makes the signal stronger

When it comes to recognizing true leadership, insight from those who’ve worked alongside the nominee carries weight no metric can match.

A reference letter offers perspective born of proximity—capturing qualities that numbers overlook and moments that matter.
  • Who should write
The strongest letters come from those with firsthand knowledge: a direct collaborator, supervisor, board member, or institutional partner. Titles matter less than truth. What matters is a clear line of professional interaction and the ability to speak candidly about impact.
  • What to include
Each letter should offer more than praise—it should reflect substance. Effective submissions touch on the nominee’s ethical compass, strategic value to their field, and real-world results. Examples, turning points, or long-term influence make these letters stand apart.
  • Submission format & requirements
    • The letter must be signed and dated.
    • Maximum length: 2 pages (PDF preferred).
    • Must be authored by someone with direct professional experience with the nominee.
    • Should address integrity, strategic contribution, and measurable or perceived impact.
    • Reference letters can be uploaded during the main nomination or via a secure link within five days of submission.
    A well-crafted endorsement doesn’t just support a nomination—it shapes how it's remembered.
